About Thac Nguyen:

I am fortunate to have a career that I love, teaching the art and sport of Taekwondo. I enjoy working with kids and families, helping them to grow stronger and teaching them the philosophy of this art by using Taekwondo's tenets: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit. Watching the students grow and improve as they progress through the training gives me strong motivation to provide them the best tools that they can use throughout their lives. I believe that being book-smart is not enough in this society today. My hope is that through Taekwondo training, the students can gain some street-smarts, toughness, common-sense, and leadership/people skills to compliment their formal education.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family.

Professional Summary:

Grand Master Nguyen is the youngest 7th Degree Black Belt (Han Moo Kwan) to ever obtain this ranking at the age of 30. Among his many accomplishments, he was a 2003 U.S. Open Gold Medalist and 1995 Pan American Open Gold Medalist. Initially trained in the traditional ITF style of Taekwondo, he has since converted to training and teaching Kukkiwon style Taekwondo, better known as Olympic Style Taekwondo. Master Nguyen's love of Taekwondo is apparent in his passion for teaching it. He has produced 17 International Champions, 6 National Champions, and over 300 California State Champions.

• 1998-2005: Vice President of the Silicon Valley Taekwondo Association

• 1998: Co-directed the 3rd U.S Hanmadang Taekwondo Championship
• 1998: Co-directed the 1st Silicon Valley Taekwondo Festival

• 1999: Earned Master Instructor's License from Kukkiwon

• 2003: Produced & Directed the 1st Blue Dragon Taekwondo Championship

• 2004: Earned 7th Degree Black Belt from Han Moo Kwan

• 2004: Produced the 4th U.S. Hanmadang Taekwondo Championship

• 2005: Produced & Directed the 2nd Blue Dragon Taekwondo Championship

• 2006-Present: President of the Silicon Valley Taekwondo Association

• 2006: Produced & Directed the Blue Dragon Olympics
